Galaxies 04:17
i came to this city looking for a way to bring our dreams to life looking to show the world the love that’s in our hearts and i can show you if you pay attention are you paying attention? cause there are galaxies inside of me and i know that if you look deep inside yourself there are galaxies that no one sees so let them out let them out i fell in love with this city and the way that everyone is ravenous for something but i hate how all we can focus on is making that money and working that hustle and making that money and working that hustle and working ourselves to death singing: “i just gotta get that green “i just gotta get that green” but we are so much more cause there are galaxies inside of me and i know that if you look deep inside yourself there are galaxies that no one sees so let them out let them out maybe if we take a breath maybe if we let ourselves be free maybe if we take our shackles off maybe if we break these fucking chains maybe if we break these fucking chains cause there are galaxies inside of me and i know that if you look deep inside yourself there are galaxies that no one sees so let them out

We Are Fire 05:46
we are fire we are fire in our hearts we could burn the whole world down or make it bright we are fire we are so much more than this stand together and we’ll change the world tonight one more chance to fix this fucking broken system one more chance to balance all the scales cause we have all been failing one another and we have to turn this ship around the veil has lifted from our eyes no more tricks and no more lies cause i can’t take this insincerity someone be real with me cause you said, “what’s one more sacrifice on the altar to the truth that’s in our hearts? “what’s one more pound of flesh if we get what we want?” we are fire we are fire in our hearts we could burn the whole world down or make it bright we are fire we are so much more than this stand together and we’ll change the world tonight one more chance you’ve squandered to make things right one more broken promise to us all now you better run and hide cause your time is slipping, slipping away everything feels so wrong now that all is said and done we all grew up so fucking naive but now we see the blood on your hands cause you said, “what’s one more sacrifice on the altar to the truth that’s in our hearts? “what’s one more pound of flesh if we get what we want?” we are fire we are fire in our hearts we could burn the whole world down or make it bright we are fire we are so much more than this stand together and we’ll change the world tonight or maybe we won’t

our spirits ache with atrophy because we can’t be bothered to lift a finger ‘bout anything, about anything and we’re nothing but apathy because it’s better than caring so goddamn much about everything, about everything caring never got us paid and the cost of living in this wretched place is so high we don’t care about your vision if it doesn’t turn a profit for us we don’t care about the galaxies inside we give zero fucks we don’t want to try to change the world, no, no we are not your audience our hearts are dried and withering because we can’t budget out more than a hit of fake dopamine fake dopamine and now our souls are shivering because we’ll sell them fast to make a moment last when we feel anything, feel anything so you better not waste our time you better not waste our time so entertain us, entertain us entertain us we don’t care about your vision if it doesn’t turn a profit for us we don’t care about the galaxies inside we give zero fucks we don’t want to try to change the world, no, no we are not your audience and you should know it’s not how good you are, no, no it’s all whose boots you lick

about

GUILLOTINE’s narrative is divided roughly into 4 acts of 4 songs, so that is how i plan to release it. the first act's theme is DISUNITY. these 4 songs are about some of my earlier years in los angeles with a pipedream of being a rockstar, but being hit over the head with apathy and disinterest. i'd go to shows and people weren't there to have fun--they were there to be seen having fun. everyone seemed consumed by trying to hustle hustle hustle & gain social capital & be in the cool kids club, even if the gatekeepers were garbage human beings. it felt like no one was listening to the part of themselves that made them feel alive--like everyone was betraying themselves. and, at the time, my ego was warping how i understood all that and i took it extremely personally. i was angry at the city around me and angry at myself for not being able to do anything to change it. little did i know how much i still had to learn.
